| Hello,
If you are here it is because I gave you the address or someone shared
it with you or I guess now you might have seen an ad I ran in a local newspaper. I have been doing art work locally for over 20 years,
living at the same address. I have been a pencil portraitist and
I have probably drawn over 2,000 people in lower Michigan mostly in
Jackson County either from life or from photos that I took during that
time.
I
have also painted faces, limbs and exposed skin during about the last
half of it and I did that at fairs and festivals in Jackson County. I
used flourescent poster paint that glows under black light. I would
paint some kid's faces and gruffly say: "you will find a mirror inside that booth" and point them at a booth made of black plastic. They would go
in and find a full length mirror with a couple big black lights and
their faces would glow back at them. When they came out it was a brand
new day with them grinning ear to ear. It was a surprise to them. Not
announcing the meaning of the booth was bad for business but it was
worth it for the fun they had. I live for grins and giggles.
I
have also been working on making that experience permanent by using
photography to capture the moment. There are no handbooks or
instructions with this because as far as I know I am the only one that
is doing this on a consistent basis and it is necessarily experimental.
I am finally getting results that are consistent and that I am proud
of. I am still
experimenting, though it will not take up too much extra time for you
now. I still need some more samples and around this site you will find some placeholders that tell you what I think I still need. If what I want and what you need are the same it could earn you some extra goodies in exchange for your release on images that you are proud of.
