What I offer the model

In general, a shoot for one person with one design should take about two hours, with two designs four hours. A shoot with two people and two designs runs about six hours. I can accommodate just about any kind of face and body painting photography that you might want. If you don't see it, ask. For example, if you want to be a hand model, I have seen some very interesting pictures of painted hands on the web. I can do that, as an example. First I will show you what I can do with a couple of power point presentations and maybe a few of the unpublished web-pages that people have agreed to let me show you. Once we are pretty clear what it is that you want we will go into the studio.

Now by we, I mean you, me and the parent, friend or relative that you brought with you. I can't stress the importance of that person enough. With a minor I demand a parent or guardian's presence. With someone over 17 years old, I very strongly suggest that you bring someone that you enjoy with you. It could be someone just along for moral support or it could be another person wanting a shoot too. I may enlist their aid, holding a light or prop or maybe reading from a list of emotions to help you ham it up or to help choose and pass hats from my collection of over a hundred. You might want help with costuming. I have one-size-fits-all drapes that fasten up the back. This escort/pal/parent comes in very handy for that and is invaluable to tell you when some hair or undergarment is sticking out somewhere it shouldn't be to ruin the pictures. Mostly just having someone you like with you laughing and pointing just spruces up your expression no end. You can bring whoever you want with you but remember, the studio is small and will accommodate only five people comfortably tops, and that includes me, so you should not be more than four people. If you want to bring more at one time, let me know so that I may accommodate you, but I am not knocking out any walls. I'd probably just have to hire a shepherd.

Then we will go into the studio which is just jam-packed with flourescent hats, flowers, props, lights, backdrops, etc. If you haven't yet settled on what it is you want, you can figure that out by looking at props, costuming and by having me read you a list of questons.** It is close quarters for you, me and whoever is with you. Your stage, so to speak, is backed with a 7' linen backdrop because the white linen in sheets and men's shirts and women's wite blouses blazes blue white under flourescent lights. There is only about 4' between the banks of lights and the backdrop. I'll sit you down, paint you up and after a couple minutes of drying we will shoot. If modesty demands, you and your companion can retreat to the lavatory to get gussied up.

When we are done shooting you can go wash off the paint, if you want to, while I go back to the computer to upload the pictures. I will show you what we have taken and you can decide what you want done with them. I can get some notion of what you like and don't like so you will get what you like. It may be that the payment from the sitting fee will cover what you want. It might be that you would want more than that covers and would want to pay for it before processing begins and thus avoid the reopening fee. At that time you can pay for what you want by cash, check, credit card or Pay Pal. Once full payment is made I will begin processing your pictures and you will receive them in one or two weeks. If I am to be able to display any of your pictures or webpages I can get a release on them at this time.

** QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU DECIDE ON A DESIGN

To help you figure out things you might want, if you don't already know, here are questions I usually ask before a shoot if a subject is unsure of what she wants:

What is your favorite color?

What is your favorite flower?

What is your favorite bird, bug or, beast (real or mythological)?

Do you have a nickname that you don't mind telling me about that is graphic like Rose or Bunny or anything else that is basicly drawable?

Do you have a totem or spirit guide or animal?

What school did you go to and did/do you play any sports or care about either?

Do you have a favorite cartoon character or painting? (I once put a simplified but recognizeable Last Supper on a girl's chest. Yes, I really am that crazy)

Do you have any symbols that are meaningful to you, a cross, a star of David, an eagle, a yin and yang, an ankh, anything.

Do You have any hobbies (that are likely to bring images to mind)?

If you could be anybody or anything, what would it be?

Do you have any tattoos that you are proud of, or if you were too sensible to have tattoos and it would not have to be surgically removed, what would you pick? If you do have something specific in mind, get me a picture of it either on paper or as a web address where I can find it.

What is important to you and is it likely something I can draw really or symbolically?

Is there a logo of some product or service that you are just nuts about. (I used to paint kid's faces at the fair and you can tell how long ago it was when I say that for the same price a kid could have anything he wanted and large numbers of them wanted the Fila "F" which is three brushstrokes.)

Do you have some article of clothing that you like that is black, white (the way a man's white shirt is white) or a neon, day-glo or fluorescent color?
